About “Joso Skarica

  • Joso Skarica

I ve been obsessed with literature since I was a teenager It all started back in the 1990s when I read Kerouac s On the Road , and then read it again and again Then I got my hands on The Tropic of Cancer and that sealed it.My literary interests are quite wide and I am open to different genres from poetry, general fiction, and even science fiction mostly PKD The only criteria I have is that the book must be of high quality and a true work of art I am currently based in the UK where I am pursuing a post graduate degree in Social Anthropology This means that at this particular point in my life I have very little time to read anything besides technical anthropological and sociological literature I have recently released a collection of poems From Within It is available on as kindle version and paperback If you are interested in getting the physical copy of the book, or the kindle version I would be happy to send it to those of you who have genuine passion for poetry, because right now I am interested in honest opinions and critique from fellow authors and poets.

  • The personal account from life expierence is so unique In this dark collection of poetry I found great lonliness yet there would be poem like Moment of Silence where there is great knowing that there is peace outside of the isolation bubble I read thse poems in the daytime but would like to read it again at night while alone to get an issolated feeling I got a chuckle from Doors It seemed like everyone is caught up in the authors web once we read this one Thank you for the opportunity to read an [...]

  • I find reviewing poetry really difficult It s often so personal that it can be hard to find the art in the emotional onslaught But Joso asked me to give this collection a read, so I did These are raw, often dark poems But they have a good rhythm or meter and present their imagery in imaginative ways I could really relate to some of them, but some went to dark places I ve never visited These were foreign landscapes that left me feeling a lot like a voyeur Junkies, whores, rent boys, God and sodom [...]

  • I won this book in a giveaway here on I wasn t sure what to expect and I thought as a fellow poet that I would check it out and enjoy reading it After reading the first poem I soon realized this guy isn t Robert Frost, he tells it like it is very descriptive language and poems written about things not normally seen in poetry Some of the poems most would find tasteless and I myself sometimes found them to be but then after reading one of such would read another about something pleasant, indeed qu [...]

  • I am obviously beyond such an outrageous concept of an author reviewing his her own work So instead of an review I will include the preface to the book This collection of poems was never meant to be read by anyone else but yours truly let alone be published in a book format They were created than a decade ago by a young man who utilized poetry as a form of unconscious auto psychotherapy I have decided to unveil these poems as a testament of courage, boldness and brutal honesty that I was capabl [...]

  • This collection of poems by Joso Skarica came upon my hands thanks to the giveaway program of It has been often my experience that poems are often unable to express the true depths of the emotions and experiences bound within the words and prose However, as I read this work, I could feel much of the darkness, sadness, and even frustration at the unknowable It wasn t perfect, but it was a truly enlightening read Short, but sweet, I recommend anyone to take a gander at this collection.

  • poems about death, the worst in a dark setting of words Are my type of read but a lot of these did not grab me The author is only 19 so maybe this is just his warm up The poems that did it overall for Visions of You think Looking at yourself in the mirrorother favorites Alone, Free, Somewhere, A letter to myself and Farewell Poem Good read, will recommend.
