I didn t like this book at first but towards the end it got better

When former assassin Alastair Coldhollow sees the legendary sword appear in the stars, he believes that his quest to proclaim the arrival of the Halfainin the long promised hero is about to be fulfilled There s just one problem He can t seem to find the Halfainin Not only that, but he suddenly finds himself playing nursemaid to an abandoned baby And to top it all off, the past he tried so hard to bury is slowly but surely catching up with him Danger lurks over Myriad Mysterious midnight murders [...]

Second read through book was still great Alistair is still my favourite character Now to move on to book two

An excellent work that engrossed me completely During one section of the book I was laughing and crying simultaneously Such a reaction is a mark of a good book.

This was quite an interesting book, very different from what you would expect and usually hearbut a very good read all the same

When I first started reading Sword in the Stars, I thought I might find it somewhat familiar because of how many books I read in this genre, but after Wayne Thomas Batson found his path, it surprised me fairly often It took me about thirty pages to really find myself interested in the story, but once it got going, I couldn t put it down Batson tried things that other authors in the genre rarely even attempt.For example, how many fantasy epic writers introduce a baby to the story 70 pages in And [...]

It took me awhile to get into it, but once I was and understood all the characters, I found myself really enjoying this book.

I really liked this book In fact, it ranks second in my list of Wayne Thomas Batson s books I read it in four hours It was a great story with good characters, interesting locations, a bad guy who actually seems to act evil, unlike others I ve read about, and seem epic battles The basic premise is that Alastair Coldhollow believes he is the Caller and will summon the Halfainan The Halfainan will end all evil and save the world in the last days But he has some serious problems He is addicted to Wi [...]

2.5 stars The romance felt forced, too many names to keep track of in parts, some characters were rather dull, the beginning was wacky in terms of pacing, and there was some unresolved build up that felt like it was only there for future books in the series It got better near the end though The villains were really cool and creepy And some of the world building was quite cool and the shepherds They were so cool I m looking forward to reading the second book and I m hoping its better.
